Easy strategy to evolve your interior design with neutral colors.

No matter how good your house looks, if you interact with it daily, you are likely to get bored with it. Changes are inevitable; for example, in summer, you want something fresher, and in winter, something cozier. We also tend to decorate for events like Thanksgiving, Halloween, and Christmas, which often results in frustration and the desire to make drastic changes over time. However, we need to make this inevitable change a practical process.

This is why I recommend to have a good strategy for it and it all comes down to neutral colors in the right characters.

As you now any room has big and small characters, for example in a living room the bigger characters would be the couch, the coffee table and a chaise lounge. On the other hand, the smaller characters can be the decorative vase on the coffee table, the throw blanket on the couch or even a painting on the wall. I believe we can all agree that is better, practical and even cheaper to change the smaller characters in the room to redecorate or even change style.

The strategy then consists on the following:

-Always buy the bigger characters in neutral colors so that you can combine them easier with change.

-Use smaller characters to give color and style to the room.

If we have this strategy, then remodeling or redecorating will be so much easier. Lets think about an example, if you love the color red, a big mistake would be buying a huge red couch. Why? because when you start to like the color green a little bit more you´ll end up having to changing the whole couch. However, if you use smaller characters as accents on your design you can place different items in red, when you get bored by the color its more practical to change the small characters or accents like the vase on the coffee table, the throw blanket on the couch and the painting on the wall.

Neutral colors are an essential part of any interior design. They provide a harmonious and calming atmosphere and create a balance between the colorful elements in the room.  Designers should consider practicality when selecting colors for their color palette as well as contrast between colors that will make each element stand out. By choosing a neutral color palette, designers can create an optimal interior design that is both aesthetically pleasing and practical.

Skip the red couch and use accents to add color or style.
