The ‘Pica Pica’ bag is made from recycled fibres. It is a sustainable and innovative product that through design, demonstrates how we can reuse materials to make new products.
Often, we believe that recycled items cannot look attractive. This could be because most things we know to be recycled include plastic shopping bags or sheets of paper. What I aim to create is a way of making and using recycled materials a part of everyday life. I look to transform wasted fibres into valuable objects whether they’re for your home, office, or like in this case, a fashionable item to finish off your look.
I am currently working on creating a line of pillows made from recycled fabric. The aim is to be able to have decorative items in our home made from recycled materials that also provide a touch of class and style wherever they are placed. I want to be able to create a collection of stylish items that can not only be used in our everyday lives, but that are also allowing us to help the planet; by using materials that would have otherwise been considered as rubbish and can now be seen as functional, attractive items.
