Succulent plants, cacti or culinary herbs are examples of plants that are often used to decorate spaces.

It’s without a doubt that plants add life and joy wherever they are placed, however, not everyone is aware that there are certain materials that can help them to grow to their highest potential.

Pots can be made using various materials including ceramic, plastic, fibreglass or clay. Having a selection of pots made from different materials is useful as it allows for the plant to grow well depending on its needs and when the correct one is chosen.

For example, traditional terracotta pots can be an ideal home for a plant because clay absorbs moisture, therefore, maintaining freshness. However, these pots do not cope well in extreme conditions.

Pots made from fibreglass, cement or plastic allow a good flow of oxygen, yet are very light in weight. For this reason, it is recommended that pots made from these materials are to be used indoors.

On the other hand, ceramic or brass pots don’t always have the necessary drain holes to allow the plant to develop correctly. Despite this, their resistance and weight are suitable for interiors while also being able to last in extreme and variable conditions.

It’s clear that the material used to make a plant pot can affect the growth of a plant, but it’s also important that it complements the style of the chosen interior, depending on its colour and finish. Ceramic pots can offer a wide range of simple styles that can add detail to spaces but, at the same time, be beneficial to the growth of your plants.

Las suculentas, los cactus o las hierbas para la cocina son algunas de las plantas de tendencia para decorar tus espacios.

Sin duda alguna las plantas añaden vida y alegría en cualquier lugar en que las ubiques, sin embargo, no todos saben que existen materiales y más recomendables para que se luzcan mejor.

Existen macetas de barro, cerámica, plástico y fibra de vidrio. La selección de estos materiales es importante para el uso y crecimiento que se le dará a su planta. En el caso de las macetas de barro cocido tradicional, las plantas crecen en un estado óptimo, porque el barro absorbe la humedad y la planta siempre tiene frescura. Sin embargo, este tipo de macetas no soporta temperaturas extremas.

Otras macetas de fibra de vidrio y hormigón permiten buena oxigenación también. Pero son bastante livianas por su poco peso, sucede lo mismo con las macetas de plástico. Por esta razón es recomendable utilizarlas en interiores.

Las macetas de bronce o cerámicas por otra parte a veces no tienen los agujeros necesarios para el desarrollo correcto de la planta. Sin embargo, su peso y resistencia son adecuados para interiores y cambios de temperatura extremos.

Los materiales de las macetas sin duda afectan al crecimiento de la planta, pero también complementan el estilo de tus interiores, dependiendo del color y brillo que tengan. 

La cerámica puede ofrecer una amplia gama de variedades para añadir un detalle a tus espacios y al mismo tiempo benefician el crecimiento de tus plantas.
