"A SCRIPT FOR A LIFETIME"
Here's how i designed my personal parametric tattoo.
The idea was simple: Inspired by the smooth lines on our Parametric Bench, i made a custom script on Grasshopper3d for my right arm. All the lines are controled by 4 curves on rhinoceros that allows to manually move the control points and see the parametric result. These lines have to be measured with the thinckness of the arm on certain points. It was important to had in mind the continuity of the curves arround the gap, so i copied the tattoo to the sides to be able to see and edit that.
On the same design i added a line thickness gradient controled by a simple number value to give more or less offset to the lines. The gh3d inputs are NUMBER OF LINES - AMOUNT OF THICKNESS - START AND END WIDTH FACTOR.
In the future my idea is to upload the script and add parametric inputs of arm and tattoo sizes. With this, you will be able to print the tattoo curves of your choise, only focusing on the drawing and all the correct measures will fit automaticly to you.
